Woman Injured in Late-Night Ridgewood Shooting

A woman was hospitalized with minor injuries following a shooting in Ridgewood late Sunday night, according to the NYPD. Officers from the 104th Precinct were dispatched to the intersection of Wyckoff Avenue and Hancock Street shortly before 11:30 p.m. on July 26 after receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, authorities found a woman suffering from two graze wounds to her leg. The victim reported that she was standing with a group of acquaintances when she heard multiple shots fired and subsequently felt pain in her leg. Emergency medical personnel transported her to a local hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators canvassed the immediate area and recovered several shell casings. As of Monday, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Law enforcement officials have not yet determined whether the woman was the intended target of the gunfire or if she was struck by stray rounds. The investigation remains active.

Data from the 104th Precinct indicates that this incident follows a period of relatively low gun violence in the area, with only three shootings reported year-to-date as of July 19, matching the total for the same period in 2025.
