Editorial Standards

New Village Daily publishes local reporting for Greenwich Village and Lower Manhattan. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Sources

We cite primary sources whenever available — court filings, agency announcements, meeting records, and named local reporting. When a story relies on secondary reporting, we link to it.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note what changed. See Contact & Corrections.

AI-assisted reporting

Some articles are produced with the assistance of AI tools that help us monitor public information sources, draft summaries, and structure reporting. Every AI-assisted article is labeled at the top of the story. New Village Daily is responsible for the articles we publish and for the accuracy of their content, whether or not AI assistance was involved.

Not every AI-assisted article receives individual human review before publication. When an article has not been individually reviewed by an editor, its disclosure still applies: New Village Daily remains responsible, and readers who identify errors are encouraged to contact us so we can correct or retract the article.

We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, invent sources, or generate photorealistic images of real people or events.

Article images are captioned and credited when the source is known. Alternative text is written for screen-reader users. If you believe an image is used without permission, contact us at Admin@newvillagedaily.com.
