A new bakery, Two Cookies, has officially opened its doors at 149 First Avenue in the East Village. The shop occupies the retail space formerly held by Gooey on the Inside, a business that closed in late spring after operating for approximately nine months. At the time of that closure, proprietor Kafi Dublin indicated that the location had not proven to be a viable fit for the business.

This expansion represents the third New York City outpost for the Two Cookies brand. The company established its first shop in the Financial District in 2023 and also maintains a walk-up window in SoHo.

According to the business, the bakery’s menu is limited to two primary offerings: a classic sugar cookie and a signature chocolate chip cookie, which customers may choose to have served either warm or chilled. The company states that its recipes utilize specific ingredients, including Belgian chocolate, European butter, and free-range eggs.
