Chef Emily Swaine to Launch Seasonal Eatery in Former Williamsburg Restaurant Space

The upcoming café and restaurant will occupy the Lorimer Street storefront previously held by Pomp and Circumstance.

A new dining destination is coming to Williamsburg this autumn. Swaine’s, a seasonal café and restaurant, has announced plans to move into 577 Lorimer Street, the space formerly occupied by the Mediterranean restaurant Pomp and Circumstance.

The project is led by Chef Emily Swaine, who brings an extensive culinary background to the neighborhood. According to reports, Swaine previously served as the head chef at the Manhattan restaurant Forsythia. Her professional history also includes tenures at several notable New York City dining institutions, such as Union Square Cafe, Maialino, and the Michelin-starred Blue Hill at Stone Barns.

While an exact opening date has not yet been disclosed, the establishment is expected to begin operations sometime this fall. The arrival of Swaine’s marks a transition for the Lorimer Street address following the recent closure of its predecessor. Further details regarding the specific menu offerings or operating hours have yet to be released by the ownership team.
