Police Search for Suspect Following Subway Slashing in Downtown Brooklyn

Law enforcement officials are investigating a violent encounter that took place at the Pacific Street subway station late last week. According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 9:09 p.m. on July 31 on the station's southbound D train platform.

Preliminary information suggests that a 30-year-old man was waiting for a train when he was approached by an unidentified individual. Sources indicate that the stranger initiated a conversation regarding a tattoo on the victim's arm, specifically questioning whether the man was affiliated with a gang. Following this exchange, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife and slashed the victim across his right hand.

Emergency medical services transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he received treatment for his injury.

The suspect fled the scene immediately following the altercation. Witnesses described the individual as wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. As of early August, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
