Stickett Inn Vacates First Avenue Storefront Amid Relocation Rumors

The East Village storefront at 157 First Avenue, which served as the local outpost for the boutique cidery Stickett Inn, has been cleared out. The establishment, founded by Johnny Pizzolato and Roswell Hamrick, had operated at the location between Ninth and 10th Streets since June 2021.

While the business has not issued an official statement regarding its future, reports indicate that the bar ceased operations at the First Avenue address on July 14. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the owners intend to reopen the business around September 1 in a new space on 10th Street, situated between First Avenue and Avenue A. Construction activity has been observed at 279 E. 10th St., though it remains unverified if this is the site of the new venue.

Digital footprints for the business remain largely unchanged; as of late July, Google and Yelp listings continued to identify the First Avenue location as active. Additionally, the business’s Instagram account has been set to private, limiting public updates from the owners.

Stickett Inn gained a local following for its selection of house-made cider, cocktails, and spirits sourced from New York producers, including a focus on LGBTQ+ businesses. The original parent company operates a boutique inn and cidery in Barryville, New York.
