Resorts World Initiates Latest Expansion Phase in Queens

Resorts World New York City officially launched the next stage of its multi-billion-dollar expansion on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, with a formal groundbreaking ceremony. The project, situated in Ozone Park, Queens, is set to introduce a 400-room hotel tower and a dedicated concert arena to the existing complex.

This construction effort follows a series of operational updates at the facility. As of April 2026, the casino expanded its offerings to include live table games. The venue currently hosts more than 2,500 slot machines and over 240 table games, including options such as blackjack, craps, and roulette.

Resorts World holds the distinction of being the first commercial casino to open within New York City’s history and was among the initial trio of operators to secure a full commercial license. While the current expansion focuses on the Aqueduct site, the broader landscape of New York City gaming remains in flux, with other projects—such as the Hard Rock Metropolitan Park at Citi Field and a proposed development at the former Trump golf course in the Bronx—at various stages of planning or development.

While the groundbreaking marks a milestone for the Ozone Park property, specific timelines regarding the completion of the new hotel and concert venue have not been publicly finalized.
