NYPD Seeks Two Suspects Following Bayside Stabbing of Off-Duty Officer

The New York Police Department has released surveillance imagery of two individuals sought in connection with the stabbing of an off-duty officer in Bayside, Queens. The incident took place at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, outside 39-26 Bell Boulevard.

According to law enforcement, the 30-year-old victim, who is assigned to the 69th Precinct in Brooklyn, was walking with an acquaintance when they were approached from behind by two men riding a scooter. Reports indicate that the suspects spoke in Spanish before one of them used a knife to slash the officer’s right hand. Following the assault, the two men fled the scene, traveling northbound on Bell Boulevard.

Emergency responders transported the officer to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators have provided descriptions of the suspects to assist in the ongoing search. One individual was observed wearing a white shirt paired with grey trousers, while the second suspect was seen in a blue shirt and multicolored shorts.
