Man Hospitalized Following Canarsie Shooting

Police are searching for a suspect after a 41-year-old was wounded outside a local event space on Saturday morning.

Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a 41-year-old man injured in Canarsie on Saturday morning. Officers from the 69th Precinct were dispatched to the vicinity of Naomi’s Suite, located at 8922 Avenue D, at approximately 11:15 a.m. following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. Emergency medical services transported the man to Brookdale Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

As of Sunday, investigators had not identified a suspect or established a clear motive for the attack. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains active.

While local crime statistics for the 69th Precinct indicate a 33% decrease in the total number of shooting incidents compared to previous data, the number of individual shooting victims in the area has risen by 14%.
