Independent Feature 'Irregular' Set for Chain Film Festival Debut

The independent feature film *Irregular* is slated for its world premiere this Sunday at the Chain Film Festival. The 80-minute project, which serves as a cinematic tribute to the East Village, was captured largely on location at the neighborhood establishment Sophie’s on Fifth Street.

Directed and co-written by Kyle de Vre, who also portrays the role of the bartender, the film is structured as a collection of vignettes. These scenes depict the atmosphere of the bar across various Tuesday nights, featuring a cast of regulars and newcomers. Public interest in the premiere has been significant, with organizers confirming that the original 6 p.m. time slot is sold out. In response to the ticket demand, a second screening has been added to the festival schedule for 8 p.m. The event will take place at the Chain Theatre, situated at 312 W. 36th St. between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
