Commuters Rescue Man Pushed Onto Tracks at Harlem Subway Station

A 37-year-old man was hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday night after being shoved onto the subway tracks at the 125th Street station in Harlem, according to law enforcement officials.

Police reported that the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on August 4 on the southbound platform of the 2/3 line station. Authorities stated that the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified individual prior to the physical assault. The specific nature of the dispute remains unclear.

Following the shove, the victim landed on the roadbed but avoided contact with the third rail. Bystanders on the platform intervened, pulling the man back to safety before any trains arrived at the station. Emergency medical services arrived shortly thereafter and transported the victim to Harlem Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified or apprehended, fled the station on foot immediately following the incident. As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
