Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing at Long Island City High-Rise

Law enforcement officials are investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend at a luxury residential building in Long Island City. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Carlos Penzo, was discovered in his fourth-floor apartment at 43-25 Hunter Street on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports from authorities, the victim was found in his bathtub suffering from multiple stab wounds to his head, face, and chest. Investigators noted that a knife and a taser were located in the victim's lap, while additional weapons were recovered from a bed and a sink within the unit.

Police took one man into custody after he was discovered on the roof of the apartment building. Witnesses and officials indicated the individual was observed using a fire extinguisher to target security cameras. Authorities further stated that the suspect was apprehended while allegedly attempting to force his way back into the victim's residence.

Detectives are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and are reviewing the victim's background.
