Three Dead, One Hospitalized Following Domestic Shooting in Caswell County

A violent domestic incident in rural North Carolina left three people dead and one hospitalized on Wednesday morning, according to the Caswell County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a residence in the Prospect Hill community shortly before 8 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered four adults suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that three of the individuals, including the suspected shooter, were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth adult was transported to Duke University Hospital for medical treatment.
During a press briefing held Wednesday afternoon, officials stated that all four individuals involved were members of the same family. The identities of the deceased and the surviving victim have not yet been disclosed, as investigators are working to notify next of kin.
"There is no threat to the general public," officials emphasized, noting that the incident was contained to the property.
The Caswell County Sheriff's Office is currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. They are receiving assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and various local emergency response agencies.
As of Wednesday evening, investigators remained at the scene to process evidence and conduct interviews. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
