Investigation Underway After Fatal Medical Procedure at Bronx Wellness Center

A 27-year-old woman has died following a medical procedure performed at a Bronx wellness clinic, prompting an investigation by local authorities. Police from the 50th Precinct arrested an individual at the scene on Sunday, July 19, after the patient suffered a medical emergency.

According to reports, the victim visited the Bereshit Lifestyle Center, a facility that advertises holistic and alternative health services, for an anti-aging serum injection. During the course of the procedure, the woman reportedly lost consciousness. She was subsequently transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital by private means, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

Law enforcement sources indicated that the individual who performed the procedure lacked a medical license issued within the United States. While the suspect has been taken into custody, specific charges remain pending as the investigation continues. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed by officials, pending notification of her family.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of the victim’s remains to conduct an autopsy, which is expected to determine the official cause of death. The Bereshit Lifestyle Center, situated at 3190 Riverdale Ave., remains a focal point of the ongoing inquiry into the unauthorized practice of medicine.
