Summer Curtain Calls: Major Broadway Productions Set to Close

As the summer season progresses, the Broadway landscape is preparing for a series of notable departures. Several acclaimed productions, ranging from recent revivals to long-running hits, have announced their final performance dates.

August Wilson’s *Joe Turner's Come and Gone*, which features performances by Taraji P. Henson and Cedric the Entertainer, is scheduled to conclude its run on July 26.

Following that, *Cats: The Jellicle Ball* will hold its final performance on August 8. The production, which transformed the Broadhurst Theatre into a ballroom setting, earned three Tony Awards during its tenure.

Also departing the stage is the current revival of *Ragtime*. The production, which explores the intersecting lives of three American families at the turn of the 20th century, is set to close on August 16. The show received significant recognition this season, including Tony Awards for lead actors Joshua Henry and Casey Levy.

Finally, the Al Hirschfeld Theater will bid farewell to *Moulin Rouge! The Musical* on August 30. The production, which has been a staple of the theater for seven years, is noted for its high-energy staging and pop-infused score. Since its 2021 debut, the show secured 10 Tony Awards, including the honor for Best New Musical, and reportedly became the highest-grossing production in the century-long history of the Al Hirschfeld Theater after nearly 2,300 performances.
