Two Children Hospitalized Following Astoria Bicycle Collision

Two children were hospitalized on Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding their bicycles in Astoria, Queens. The incident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of 21st Street and 31st Road.
According to reports, the victims—an 11-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl—were transported to Harlem Hospital following the collision. While the specific nature of their injuries has not been disclosed, officials indicated that both children are expected to survive.
Visual evidence from the scene showed significant damage to a bicycle, as well as impact damage to the front bumper and windshield of the sedan involved. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash and is currently in police custody. As of Saturday, authorities have not announced specific charges, noting that the investigation remains ongoing.
