Independent Bookstore Opens Doors on East 6th Street

A new independent bookstore, Afterword Bookshop, has officially opened its doors at 216 East 6th Street in the East Village. Founded by business partners Lulu Mourning and Nika Voron, the shop represents the culmination of a long-held ambition to establish a community-focused space for readers.

One of the shop's notable features is a rear patio, which Mourning and Voron intend to utilize for community programming. The space has already hosted literary discussions, including a recent event featuring authors Deborah Lutz and Amanda Vaill.
